For maintaining law and order, in any civilized society it is essential to have strict laws and punishment for the guilty.However,while coming to capital punishment,we have to think a little more on-'Whether is is civilised?"
For a cultured society like ours ,can we execute the guilty-what ever may be the crime?
As a basic rule only the appointing authority will have the Powers to dismiss an employee.Similarly,you can kill any one only if you have powers ti give life to him.This is the fundamental of any religion.Being humans we are not capable of living life back to any creature after killing it.Hence we are not expected/en powered to kill anybody-including animals in this world.
Coming back to the capital punishment-why life term imprisonment is not sufficient as the maximum punishment.This will give another chance to correct the judgment-if given erroneously-at a later stage also.When the entire world is moving towards abolition of capital punishment,where already 95 countries have consensus-why can't we in India ?That will not be treated as our weakness,rather reflected as our strength derived from ancient culture.
